Australian Shepherd Breed Information
If someone feels proud of having Australian
Shepherd it is because of its intelligence, tremendous swiftness
with magnificent intrepidity mixed with hard nut to crack attitude.
Therefore one can rely hundred percent on Australian Shepherds for
bravery and loyalty. Aussie Shepherds were earlier used to help
shepherds in ranches to control the sheep. They were very much
competent and expert to tackle herding animals. Later with the
advent of advanced technology and upgradation of science, their
usage was hampered.
Now people love to keep Australian Shepherds at home to monitor the
house. Australian Shepherds are very much gallant and powerful. It
is true that they are rowdy and violent but with proper training
they can be a part of the family. Their long lasting relationship
with human beings has strengthened the bond between men and
Australian Shepherds. They show extreme propensity towards human
association and companionship. They like to play with children. They
can perform risky shows and games without any basic training because
they are habituated to take the challenge and risk in life. There is
no denying the fact they are extremely loyal and faithful to their
masters. They can immolate their lives for the protection of
masters. Therefore they are much reliable and trustworthy. It is the
fact they must be trained the lesson of obedience. If they are given
proper training they will prove their potentiality in discharge of
duties to the entire satisfaction of their owners.
As Australian Shepherds emerge from the mixed parentage, they can be
undersize or over size. As per the direction of the American Kennel
Club, the most convenient size of male Australian Shepherds should
be 20-23 inches to the withers i.e. the highest point of shoulders.
On the other hand the female Shepherds should be 18 to 21 inches in
height. They should have bobbed tails. The colors of the Aussie can
be blue merle, black, red merle. Australian Shepherds are designed
with furry coat with medium length.
Without any confusion it can be said that to protect one's house
from any felony or invasion, one can keep Australian Shepherd at
home. They are also very competent to give escort to the blind and
physically challenged persons. However they should be given potty
training and crate training. Through the training session to make
the training program much more energetic one can use treats and
fantastic toys to keep them in jocund mood. They must be pressed
into service all the time without any scope to leave them without
job. They can turn violent for boredom.
